For the last nine years, Livability editors and data scientists have created the annual ranking of the Top 100 Best Places to Live in America. Keep reading to find out how Omaha was ranked!

Every year, the list changes as a result of their in-depth analysis and surveys: Livability modifies the algorithm and includes new variables and data points.

One thing remains constant, though: they always start by examining the data.

This year Livability looked at more than 2,300 cities this year based on more than 50 data points that are organized into eight domains, including economic stability, housing, amenities, infrastructure, demographics, social and civic capital, and health care. Each city's LivScore is calculated in this way.

This year, Livability started with the age-old question: Why should someone want to live there?
